Happy New Year!

The Heartwood Project staff and community would like to wish everyone a healthy, joyful and nature connected 2025.

We had our final day of 2024 on New Year's Eve, it was a still and dry midwinter's day and it really was the calm before the storm! During the morning we worked on a range of different activities: putting a handle onto the log cutting trolley, assembling a new garden trolley kindly given to us by a friend of the woods, pallet breaking and de-nailing, as well as splitting the pallet wood for kindling. After a leisurely lunch around the fire we spent the afternoon tending the space immediately around the shelter and fire circle. We raked leaves, cleared rotting logs and tidied the area. We wanted to do a bit of caretaking for the woods to show it the love it deserves; we are always grateful for the joy and nurture it offers us all throughout the year.
