Building planters, making wooden weaving cogs, bug hotels and more

It was a surprise to receive not one but two requests for orders for planters last week and so the building begins. We had two planters being made and all the woodworking is now complete and only the lining to still be attached. They are looking great and we hope the new owners will enjoy watching their vegetables grow in them. We had a lot of fun learning and growing in confidence with our woodworking skills whilst making them.

Some wooden weaving cogs were also made for a local kindergarten, as well the woodworking part of the bug hotel completed. We started cutting the bamboo and dried plant stems to size using loppers and secateurs; these will be used for filling the bug hotel.

The newly chopped fire logs were stacked in the wood shed to season and we gave the acorn and rusty nail ink a second boil today. We look forward to trying it out next week.
